Last Thursday our contemporary fusion group gathered in our studio quite early to wait for a bus, I think it was 9.30 am. We had a show in Tartu for Honda agency opening. At first we had to pick Aleksandra from Tallinn Bus Station, because the night before she had a concert in Saarema, so she had to take a bus in the morning about six o’clock to Tallinn to catch our bus. She hadn’t slept at all night, only two hours in the morning on the bus-ride to Tallinn. And then the journey began. Aleksandra found a hotel room card from her pocket, and then she remembered that she didn’t give it to the receptionist, but luckily it wasn’t actually even hers, it belonged to one of her friends.
Girls had a so called video training during the bus ride to remember the dance routine.
When we arrived, the crew was doing preparations already and we had a rehearsal time on the stage. At the end of our dance routine we had a part which included a red ribbon. It was wound around Aleksandra’s waist and she had to spin (almost 2 min) so we could run around with the ribbon and do a pattern with it, it supposed to look like a spider web. But in rehearsal someone accidentally pulled too hard and Aleksandra started to spin so fast, so the ribbon got stuck in her legs. Fortunately she managed not to fall down.
Later we had one more rehearsal with a women who played a big drum – she was extremely awesome. The performance went well and the audience was so silent and drawn into the show. After our show we had to go back to our locker room, but we had to use the window which was right behind the stage and a black curtain. So we had to be very quiet. One guy behind the stage had to rewound the window up but it did a lot of noise. There was a really small gap between the floor and the window and we didn’t want to wait until he pulls it up, so we felt like ninjas and rolled ourselves out from the gap.
We had a different photographer with us this time – Taavi Muide. He stays currently in Tartu and he is a brilliant photographer. Taavi took most of the pictures there, I on the other hand had only a little Canon S110 with me and I mostly filmed, so soon there is coming behind the scenes video. Stay tuned!
In our backstage there was a table full of sushi and fruits. After the show there was also a big cake which was offered to the guests and performers. Cherry on top were the fortune cookies, everyone opened and read those with excitement during our ride back .
When we arrived to Tallinn a surprise was waiting for us. Siim was waiting us in front of our studio and he hugged us all really tightly. It was so good to see him, he had just arrived from China in the morning. Jaaaayyy, HE IS BACK!!
Little photo gallery is at the end of the post.
Eelmine neljapäev kogunes meie contemporary fusion grupp üpriski varakult stuudiosse, et oodata bussi, mis meid Tartusse viiks. See oli umbes 9:30 hommikul. Meil oli uue Honda keskuse avamise puhul Tartus show.
Jeeeeeeeee, TA ON TAGASIIIII!
